City trips
Barcelona
The bustling city of Barcelona, located on the Mediterranean Sea, is known for its cultural richness and its many museums, cathedrals and churches. Barcelona has numerous buildings by Gaudi and his contemporaries. Take a stroll along the beautiful boulevards or Las Ramblas. Barcelona has many covered markets, well-kept beaches and Port Olímpic with its marina. The many restaurants and shops make the city an ideal place for relaxation and shopping, and for those who want a vibrant nightlife.
Interested in spending a day in Barcelona? The BCN Region Pass includes a parking ticket for the centre of Barcelona, a fast-track ticket for the Sagrada Familia, a ticket for the Hop on Hop off Bus and 20% discount on everything else you want to do. Girona
A delightful city located at the confluence of the rivers Ter and Onyar. The old town, a maze of streets and alleys, leads to the Santa Maria Cathedral (14th-18th century). If you cross the Onyar to reach the modern city, do not hesitate to stop and admire the yellow, ochre and orange coloured facades. The many squares with bars, shops and restaurants make Girona a lively cultural and culinary city. Girona, a real Catalan city which is proud of its status, is worth a detour. Being just 20 minutes away from your residence, it would be a pity not to spend a few hours there. Some useful links:

Coastal towns on the Costa Brava
From the Guest House it is about 25 minutes to the famous coastal towns of Playa d’Aro, Lloret de Mar and Blanes; but the coastal towns of Tossa de Mar, Palamós and Calella de Palafrugell are also well worth a visit and are around 30km away. Between Girona and the Costa Brava lies the beautiful landscape of the Emporda with small historic villages such as Pals, Peratallada and Madremanya.
